Developing efficient software solution while considering the environment
"Green" information technology has become a popular and trendy topic. Many companies are exploring methods,
practices and policies to use green application development techniques. Energy consumption is a major cost of
operating IT software in organizations and data centers. Hardware and software developers and manufacturers are
beginning to include power saving options and strategies during project planning to reduce energy consumption
and e-waste. While, software solutions are considered a valuable item in the IT project, there has been less research conducted to highlight their impact on the
green technology movement. This paper focuses on the impact of developing green software solution on energy utilization
and its benefits for the environment and organizations
Collaborative system: higher education search engine
Malaysian universities or colleges has been one of the main attractive educational destinations to foreigners for the last decade. Malaysian educational institutions are recognized in opening doors of knowledge that fulfill studentโs lives with skills, awareness and enthusiasm. There are over 20 public universities and 60 private colleges that offer a complete range of programs leading to highly regarded and internationally recognized qualifications. Despite the vast information made available by these institutions on their websites, majority of potential students face challenges in choosing the right program, courses and university that suits their needs. This research study the innovative method which could be developed and leveraged by the educational industries, specifically the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia (MOHE) in close collaboration with these universities and colleges, in using search engine comparator technology whereby assisting potential students in making selection. The study raises awareness of relevant collaboration initiatives that could be adopted and replicated to facilitate students and parents in making well-informed decision
IslamGRID: Knowledge Management at Jakim
IslamGRID was developed to collect, preserve, disseminate and promote knowledge of Islam to all Muslims globally, whether in the administrative, industrial and commercial. With the advent of Information Technology and the increase of the amount of information that organizations have to deal with, there is a requirement to put strategic process in place to ensure the effective management of knowledge. This case study research looks into 3 main areas of a Knowledge Management (KM) System (KMS) (i. People; ii. Process; and iii. Technology) and their relationship, which
might affect the effectiveness of the IslamGRID to the Islamic community (Ummah). The application of these areas would be for JAKIM, JAIN, Muslims as well as non-Muslims
IslamicGRID and knowledge management
IslamGRID was developed to collect, preserve, disseminate and
promote the knowledge, heritage and beauty of Islam to all Muslims
and non-Muslims, whether in the social, political, administrative,
industrial and commercial. With the advent of information systems (IS)
and information communications technology (ICT), the adoption of
Open Innovation Model collaborations as stated by Agensi Innovasi
Malaysia in โInnovating Malaysiaโ, and the increase of the amount of
information that Muslim communities and organizations have to deal
with, there is a requirement to put strategic process and platform in
place to ensure the effective management of Islamic knowledge,
experiences, expertise and heritage reaching its target audience. This
case study research will look into the content, people, processes and
technology and their relationship, which might affect the effectiveness
of the IslamGRID portal delivery to the Muslim community (Ummah)
as well as to the non-Muslims communities. IslamGRID is proposed to
adopt the Quadruple Helix Model collaboration involving Government,
Industry, Academia and Citizen -the approach of โwe know everythingโ
is history according to AIM. In the initial stage, IslamGRID may
